Project N.16 – Demolition Of House To Allow For 5 New Built Flats In New Malden, Kingston

16 Acacia Grove is located in New Malden in South-West London in the Kingston Council. It is a walking distance to New Malden centre and train station.

The brief for this project is very exciting. The existing semi-detached house is proposed to be demolished to give way to a contemporary block of flats. The proposed development would comprise a new semi-detached block of nr.two 3-bed, nr. two 1-bed and nr. one 2-bed dwellings with associated landscape alterations.

The two 3-bed flats (Flats A and B) are designed to occupy the ground floor and the newly excavated half basement. The proposed large lightwells at the rear will serve as contemporary amenity space while ensuring the proposed bedrooms in the basement are well lit and ventilated. At the rear of the two flats, large open plan kitchen/dining/ living spaces are designed to create comfortable high-end living, opening towards the rear gardens where access is gained through glass walkways over the lightwells.
